| 4. RS AEG (metal parts) maintaining instruction |
There is a saying on the American’s Army maintaining manual: “Corrasion and rust are the biggest foes of the firearms.” (Excerpted from the 273 issue article “The Maintain Standard Operating Procedure of Personal Weapon” of a Taiwan magazine “Defence International”)
Although the AEG never fire powder, but RS AEG has been used a great deal of real steel standard steel materials. So if you want to maintain your AEG like a soldier maintains his beloved gun, this instruction indicated what you need to live up to do. |

a. Form a habit to clean and maintain AEG timely
After the game, especially under the rainy and wet environment, you should form a habit to clean and wipe the AEG.
b. Proceeding the necessary disassembly before the maintenance according to RS AEG
disassembly & maintenance instruction sheet
The best occasion for you to get an overall view of the AEG is when you disassemble or assemble it. During this process, please double check and remember the name of every part, and confirm those parts are workable. When you disassemble the AEG, please put its parts in order according to the sheet, so as to avoid the loss. |

c. Use the Gun Maintaining Oil to maintain the AEG
The prevenient traditional maintaining oil which acts single function as cleanser or mineral oil has already replaced by the firearms maintaining oil which is innocuity, litmusless and multifunction. RS A3 Gun Maintaining Oil is new-style professional firearms maintaining oil. It can give the AEG all-sided cleanness and protection. Please drop a little oil on cloth and then thin spread it on the surface of metal parts and the metal parts combined position, wipe with the cloth after two minutes reaction.
d. Assembly caution
After the reassembly of the AEG, please pay attention to that if the parts are all assembled in the right position. Avoid weakening of the airtightness and reliability. |

Take RS Type 56 AEG for example, please make the outer barrel tightly close to the barrel extension first, and then turn on the clamping screws under the sight base.
Please do not remove the hollow pin which fixes the barrel base and the receiver if it is not necessary. |

5. Accurately adjust the sighting base line of RS AEG
Accurately adjust the relative relation between the sighting base line and the bore center line. The process which makes the firing precision meet the request by adjusting the firearms sight instrument is named accurate fire. The requests of the firing precision include two aspects, the size of bullet dispersion pattern (firing density) and the windage distance(firing precision) between the average collision point and the check point (anticipative hit point).
Occasion:
You should do the fire efficiency correction once the following situation occurred:
When you get a new AEG; after replacing or repairing the part which affects the
fire effect; When you find deviant windage of the collision point during the process
of playing.
Method:
a. Preparation
There is some lubricant in the gearbox of the new AEG, so please shot about two magazines’’ BB bullets in advance, and then clean the oil inside the inner barrel or hop-up chamber packing.
After the replacement or repair, please pay attention to that if the parts are all assembled in the right position. Avoid weakening of the airtightness and reliability.
b. Test-fire
Check the firing precision of the firearms. It will be better that fire with stable support and under the indoor or no wind environment.
c. Judge the result of the test-fire and forecast the adjusting range of the sight instrument.
Measure the collision point density and the position of the average collision, and measure the windage distance between the average collision point and the check point, so as to bring out the adjustment range.
d. Adjust sight instrument
The direction of the front sight adjustment is the same as the average collision point excursion, and the direction of the rear sight adjustment is the opposite to the average collision point excursion. Please test-fire again so as to meet the fire efficiency correction request.
The front sight of RS Type 56 series and Type 97 series can be adjusted lengthways and transversely.
Please use the front sight wrench in the accessories box to adjust the sight up and down, and also can adjust the AEG trajectory fluctuation windage by adjusting the rear sight. RS Type 56 series can use the RS AK front sight left/right adjusting wrench to pull the sight slide base transversely, so as to adjust the transverse windage of the AEG trajectory.
RS Type 97 sight base can be adjusted by loosing the M6 hexangular screw on the gas regulator, so as to adjust the transverse windage of the AEG trajectory, and also can use special tool to tiny adjust the transverse position of the sight slide base.

6. Complete the assembly and disassembly of Type 56 series rear sight leaf easily
The combined point of RS Type 56 AEG‘s barrel and receiver is located on the barrel extension in the receiver, same as the real steel. If need to disassemble the AEG, should remove the rear sight leaf and rear sight leaf reed, and then remove the two M5 clamping screw via the assembling hole.
RS has supplied the rear sight base assembling wrench which is made of real steel standard material. According to the following instruction, you can complete the assembly and the disassembly easily. |

Move the upper handguard catch with the accessories box. |

The disassembly end of the rear sight base assembling wrench is marked with red cycle. |

The upper handguard catch have to be move back to its original position first, then you can use the wrench easily. Please use a rubber sheet to protect the rear sight leaf in order to avoid the surface scratches. |

7. Regarding the usage of Type 97 series battery
The inner space of Type 97 and Type 97B is compact, please select and set their batteries according to the pictures. |

8. Replacement of Type 97 series spring
There is a QD spring guide adaptor in the RS T1 gearbox of RS Type 97 series, it makes the maintenance easy and you can replace different power spring according to the game rule. Please operate according to the procedure of the instruction manual.
Please pay attention to pry if it is in the right position by using the screw driver to touch through the small hole of the spring guide adaptor. The deflection of the spring guide shim may cause the piston gear worn.
We suggest that please replace with the bearing spring guide and the bearing piston head if you replaced with stronger spring, so as to ensure the spring works smoothly. |
